FOR the financial year ended May 31, a world record for municipal transport has been achieved by Glasgow. The revenue from the buses, trams, and underground services exceeded £4,000,000, whilst the surplus will probably be at least £200,000. The combined 'services are debt free,. and their valuation is estimated at more than £12,000,000.
There are almost 10,000 municipal .transport' employees, and the 'annual wage bill is £2,250,000. The loan debt of almost £5,000,000 was redeemed last year by the use of the depreciation fund, which had a credit of £5,120,246. The municipal transport has paid more than £4,000,000 in local rates, and £1,333,543 to the Common Good Fund,
