AWARNING has gone out to East Midland road hauliers that they must be in good time in submitting applications to run loads between the farms and the vining stations in the coming pea crop season.
The East Midland Licensing Authority says that if operators fail to submit applications in good time it may mean a decision cannot be given until after the season has begun.
Operators are reminded that applications for short-term licences and variations of conditions of existing licences should be lodged with the LA not less than eight weeks before the facilities are desired to take effect.
Tanzania-Zambia Services: Lorries of the newly created Tanzania-Zambia Road Services Corporation will travel the I.200-mile Great North Road between the two countries in July. When operations start at least 125 trucks will be available. Eventually a total of about 1.000 Fiat heavy trucks will be used on the run.
