• A Blackpool lorry driver involved in a crash in which a toddler died and the parents and another child were injured tried to cover up his speed by destroying his tachograph chart, Sudbury, Suffolk, magistrates heard last week.
Two-year-old Emily Jones died in the crash, while Morris Jones, his wife Angela, and five-year-old son, Ben, were all detained in hospital.
John Foden, who pleaded guilty, was fined £275 for careless driving, and £50 for failing to produce a record sheet of his journey.
