A FURTHER £208,188 in financial assistance to Scottish Bus Group operations in the Lothian Region during the present financial year has been approved by the Regional Transport Committee. A council spokesman said: "The financial proposals involve agreement on reductions in Scottish Bus Group Services and the stipulation that the group take steps to one-man operation of vehicles."
The reduced services proposed will save £151,827 per year. There are 17 routes involved, with 13 of them operating from Edinburgh. They include the EdinburghAlloa route. It is proposed to restrict this service to the Edinburgh-Bo'ness section.
It is intended to withdraw the service on the section between Boness and Alloa in the Central Region, which it is claimed is served by W. Alexander (Midland) services.
