TO COUNTERACT one of the main criticisms levelled at the EA van — body drumming — Leyland has replaced the flat panel body sides by inverted rib panels and the composite wood/steel floor by a singlepiece steel floor.
The company claims that the resulting structure has achieved greater strength without any increase in unladen weight.
Other changes incorporated in the EA package include modifications to the cooling system. The most important of these is the ability to completely purge the system of air when filling from the header ank.
