HAVING just read CM, March 7 1981 in which the journal reported on the report by ICC Business Ratios, I felt that it would be remiss of me if I did not make an observation abot the opening paragraph (p3).
The RHA had realised the approaching problems of a transport industry that has a management whose average age is nearer the pension boo than the school book. In order help the situation the Young Executive Section was forme( 1977. This is a group of peoplt aged between 18 and 35 who in or being trained for a management position within industry. The section organist local meetings throughout th( country and residential study weekends in order to help its , members become more professional in the approach t transport management.
The sort of problems that th ICC outlined are the sort of subjects that YES are already tackling through its members, with courses such as the one held at Ilkley in February on Financial Controls within a Business.
The future of the industry must rest with groups such as YES and if any of your reader5 would like to know more abot, the group, if they contact mys or Doug Taylor at RHA, Roadv House, Upper Woburn Place, London, we would be pleased forward them more informatit R.
