• The licence held by Chuni Oil Products has been suspended after it failed to appear before North Western Licensing Authority Martin Albu at a Manchester disciplinary hearing.
Last September the Manchester-based firm was ordered to pay fines and costs totalling ,t1,200 after admitting three offences of aiding and abetting a driver to exceed driving hours and take insufficient rest.
Albu said that he had received a letter from Chuni which appeared to say that it wanted to return its 0-licence. No licence discs had been returned, however, and he suspended the licence pending further enquiries.
