/ The slump in commercial vehicle sales appears to be bottoming out although figures for March are still nearly 30% down on the same month last year. Total sales for March were 22,706. Sales of trucks and artics dropped to 3,360 compared with 5,198 in March 1990, according to the latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
Leyland Daf tops the truck sales league for the year so far with 2,158 registrations followed by Iveco Ford, 2,015; Mercedes, 1,378; Volvo, 831; Renault, 557; Scania, 454; ERF, 438; MAN, 421; AWD, 229; Seddon Atkinson, 182 and Foden 109.
