AS the U.S. economy makes a slow 1st sure recovery from the recessio earlier in the year, commercial vehicl output figures by leading manufacturer for June approached fairly closely t those of June, 1960. Chevrolet, wit 34,132 units, actually improved on th 31,888 vehicles produced in June la: year.
Overall figures for the first six month of 1961, however, reflected the earlie depression. Total U.S. output fror January to June this year was 422,85 units, as against 553,288 for the correr ponding period last year—a drop of 23, per cent. General Motors' output durin the first six months of this year fell t 211.518, from 301,963 units for th corresponding 1960 period, while For registered 173.302 units, as agaim 200,803, and Chrysler 34,150 units, a against41,871, respectively.
