BUILDING MATERIALS haulier RDL Distribution maintained its impressive growth record last year with a 21% jump in operating profits to £2.47m.
The Worksop-based business was formerly the UK distribution arm of the construction materials giant Lafarge until a management buy-out five years ago.
Joint MD Kevin Hornsby says annual profits have now more than doubled since RDL's first full year as an independent company in 2000."Our aim is to try to keep this growth pattern going. If we can't do it organically then we may well look at acquisitions but I think that is some way down the road yet."
Last year, the number of drivers employed by the company increased from 234 to 282.
Its 300 in-house and franchised vehicles are involved in hulk tipping and general haulage as well as the delivery of heavy building materials.
