TRUCK REGISTRATIONS continued to recover in July, but van registrations dipped year-on-year for the irst time in 17 months, according to the latest data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
A total of 3,519 trucks were registered in July, up 27.5% year-on-year, while for the rolling year, registrations stood at 39,042, up 21.6%.
A total of 17,162 vans were regis tered in July, down 0.8% year-onyear. For the rolling year, registrations stood at 248,736, up 21.6%.
Truck registrations were driven by artics in the rolling year: two-axles were up 38.8%, while three-axles were up 85.5%; rigids up to six tonnes and up to 16 tonnes were down 18.6% and 3.6% respectively.
DAF continued to lead the ield, with a 26.6% market share in July. The big seven truck manufacturers all enjoyed double-digit growth in July, with the exception of Scania (registrations up 8.3%); Renault was the most improved, posting a 155% increase in July and a 135% increase in the year to date.
