Eil he Hawk frequently does not know whether he is coming or going but at least he will still be able to understand how far it is in either direction thanks to a reprieve for the good old British mile.
The Eurocrats have allowed UK roadsigns a reprieve from metric measurements indefinitely, so that miles, yards and even inches can be used for distance and speed measurement. I wonder what our Continental friends would make of rods, perches, chains and furlongs? And what about a firkin?
