A swing-lip dock leveller has been developed by C. Hunter Ltd. This equipment enables vehicle platforms to be brought flush to loading banks before the dock leveller needs to be operated.
Two types of swing-lip dock levellers are available: one is counterbalanced and manually operated using side handles, and the other electro-hydraulically operated by a ram connected to the dock leveller power pack.
As the vehicle is unloaded or loaded the leveller platform moves to provide a permanent smooth platform between vehicle and loading bank. While not in use the swing-lip and leveller folds into the loading bank leaving no protrusions.
The levellers are available in various sizes to suit requirements and have capacities of 3, 6 or 10 tons.
