FOLLOWING an agreement between the French and Spanish Governments, British hauliers are now being permitted to employ French tractive units to haul British trailers through France delivering goods to Spain and Portugal, a spokesman for Thoresen Ferries said last week.
He added that first reports of the change in regulations had appeared like a virtual ban on British trailers. However, discussions had been held with the French Ministry of Transport, and in fact the new agreement did not affect British articulated or rigid vehicles.
