• The number of transport companies going into receivership or administrative receivership has fallen slightly compared to last year, latest figures show.
The statistics, compiled by accountants Touche Ross, reveal 15 transport companies have gone into receivership or administration so far this year, compared with 17 at the same time last year.
Last month the number of transport company failures was put at seven.
Among those companies which went into receivership in February was Network Express Parcels Ltd, based in North London, which employed ten people.
Other casualties Edinburgh-based JA Barnhill Ltd and Hambro (Transport) Liverpool.
