• MAN has introduced an L2000 6x2 rear-steer chassis for drinks distribution. It is designed to avoid German autobahn tax levied on vehicles over 12 tonnes GVVV. The first completed model on a 9.163 chassis has Keppler bodywork with dropsides and curtains. Deck height is 900mm and payload around 7,000kg.
• Skoda will launch a Felicia-based pickup and van range by the autumn, to replace the previous Favoritbased models. For the first time it will include a highcube van, as well as the fivedoor and estate car-derived van. A VW diesel-powered option will join the 1.3-litre petrol engine.
• VW is offering two years free servicing and maintenance for all Golf vans bought before 31 May 1995. The offer covers Iwo years/40,000 miles and all parts and labour are included in servicing.
• The first Ducat° emergency ambulance in the UK has gone into service in Leicestershire. Six other nonemergency Ducatos complete the order. The air-suspended 2.5 litre turbo-diesel powered emergency vehicle was converted by Auto Conversions of Co Offaly in Ireland.
