The Department for Transport (DfT) launched a consultation in May on proposals to allow ministers to relax the EU cabotage rules for car transporters during their peak registration periods, with a closing date for responses of 5 June.
The summary of responses should have been available by 5 September, but the DfT says the recent cabinet reshuffle has delayed matters and it is unable to give an indication of either the volume or tone of feedback from the industry.
A DfT spokesperson could only comment: “The responses are being analysed.”
