BRITAIN'S roads are among th, safest in Europe, according to , survey carried out by the De partment of Transport. Onl. Norway and Sweden have fewe deaths per head of populatioi and per motor vehicle.
The total number of roar deaths in the United Kingdon last year was 6,010, the lowes since 1958, despite a 35 per cen increase in traffic volume.
