COMPENSATION for Ulster Transport Authority employees retiring under the voluntary retirement scheme is
estimated to cost about m. to 1:21 m., M.P.s were told in the Ulster Commons last week.
The Minister of Development, Mr. Craig, replying to Mr. David Little (U., West Down), said the compensation scheme recently approved for employees of the U.T.A., covered not only statutory causes of redundancy under the Government proposals, but also redundancy caused by efficiency measures, such as the introduction of one-man buses.
.The amount already paid or agreed to be paid was “35,000, and the largest Single sum paid or to be paid in a lump sum to any individual employee so far was £2,394.
