• Chapel-en-le-Frith operator Combs Valley Tankers has added a German-made Spitzer tanker to its 19-strong tipping tank trailer fleet.
The 36m3 tanker has air suspended tri-BPW axles with front lifter and tares out at 4,920kg. It offers a 26.5-tonne payload at 38 tonnes when coupled to Combs' ERF El0 tractive unit. A CD Cycloblower with Adams Ricardo silencer on the unit side-discharges the powered lime at 1.7 bar.
Until now Combs Valley has had an all-Metalair and Carmichael tanker fleet but MD Robert Somerset says he chose the new Spitzer mainly on price and delivery time.
