BARNSLEY-BASED Ken Mallinson & Sons Transport has added 10 new Euro-5 Mercedes-Benz Actros tractors to its leet as part of its replacement programme.
The new trucks, supplied by Northside Trucks in Doncaster, are 460hp Megaspace units with automatic transmissions, and will be used as part of the irm’s general haulage leet delivering goods for customers including Asda.
They will join 20 other Actros tractors that were added to the leet in 2011. Mallinson & Sons is also due to take delivery of two 26-tonne Daf CF85 6x2 rigids, itted with Moffett mounted forklift trucks, this month. The company has also signed a two-year extension to one of its contracts: Mallinson will transport 20 loads per day of clay pipes and other drainage equipment across the UK for Naylor Industries until the end of 2013, with a number of trailers running in the Naylor Group’s livery.
