THE maximum permissible gross laden weights of Albion Clydesdale and Reiver models for the export market have been up-rated. The increase has resulted from experience gained by operators under varying conditions. Extended tests with higher ratings for these vehicles have also been made -by the makers, and have shown that the vehicles arc capable of carrying increased payloads with little change to the chassis specification of Clydesdale models, and no change to Reiver models.
Conversion kits to enable. existing Clydesdale models to qualify for the new ratings are available from Albion Motors, Ltd.
APPEAL "HOPELESS" SAYS CHAIRMAN
THIS is a hopeless appeal," comrnented Mr. Hubert Hull, chairman of the Transport Tribunal, in Edinburgh on Monday, when the Tribunal . dismissed an appeal by B. Y. Abbey, Ltd., against a decision of the Scottish Licensing Authority.
Mr. Hull said that it was impossible to add anything to the statement made by Mr. W. Quin, the Authority.
Abbey's application had been to add five vehicles, aggregating 211 tons unladen, to their Edinburgh B licence. The respondents were the British Transport Commission.
