now being offered by the Special Products Division of the Leyland Motors Group. following the announcement recorded in our April 26 issue that p. series of 10-ton axles was to be made generally available. Three 12-ton units are offered, two beirie for single-drive applications, one with conventional springs and the other for trunnion-type suspensions, whilst the third axle incorporates through-drive gearing for use in double-drive bogies and includes an air-operated differential lock. This latter axle is suitable only for
trunnion type spring layouts. The approximate dry weight of each of the single-drive axles is 2,097 lb., whilst the through-drive unit weighs 2,268 lb. Overall ratios of 4-82, 61)6, 7-74 or 8-769 to -1 are offered.
