A TECHNICAL memorandum on disposal of waste oils is now in preparation, and a specific case study is soon to be completed for the Waste Management Advisory Council.
Baroness Birk, Under Secretary DoE, who gave this news when questioned in the Lords about the recycling of used engine oil, noted that some 600,000 tons of spent lubricating oil arose annually in this country.
About two thirds was technically reclaimable as lubricants or fuel, she said.
