A LAMINATE-WALL body, designed specially for the delivery of retail goods in roll pallets, has been added to the Strongbox range of IL Tidd and Son Ltd, St Neots, Cambs.
The van has been designed to meet all the problems associated with pallet loading including that of damage caused by jostling against the sides. It is claimed that the laminate walls provide such impact and scuff resistance that even a sledge hammer would not dent them.
The floor of the Strongbox is reinforced to take the high-point loads and scuffing action of rollpallets. It is available in chassisless trailer form up to 12xn in length as well as being offered as a boxvan.
With front-wheel drive and a trailing bogie which is mounted on rubber suspension, it is said to have consistent high lateral stability combined with good riding conditions. The Lo-skip measures 6.96m (22.8ft) long by 2.49m (8.2ft) wide and is 2.13m (7ft) high. Its load capacity is 5 tonnes (5 tons).
