I pointed these out to my tyre dealer, who said that these were quite safe. Is this correct?
Such bulges in new tyres could lead to prosecution or failure of the annual test, but they can be present in repaired or remoulded tyres with no adverse effect on safety. The repair should have been carried out to British Standard BS AU 159a specification, however. Tyres repaired to this standard will be marked with a yellow patch.
