M&S work goes to DHL Supply Chain
DHL SUPPLY CHAIN has taken over from Wincanton the road transport element of the Marks & Spencer (M&S) store equipment contract that is based in Uttoxeter.
The company moved into the site in Marchington on 1 November, after a strategic review conducted by M&S.
A total of 23 employees have switched from Wincanton to DHL under TUPE regulations. A Wincanton spokesman reveals that the changes are not related to the operational capabilities of the Marchington site", which has 'always performed to a high operational standard".
Wincanton says it will continue to run the warehousing of M&S's store equipment, and will relocate the operation from Marchington to a new site in Bradford in early 2010.
Approximatetly 59 employees are likely to be affected by this move.
