At a public inquiry held in Falmouth ist week, Richard Benny (Transport) Ltd, f Helston. had its operators' licence curiiled from 10 to six vehicles for a period f six months by the deputy LA for te Western Traffic Area, Mr Arthur affin.
The company had been called to the iquiry under Section 69 following the sue of five immediate and four delayed -ohibitions between November 1972 and fay 1973, together with, a conviction at kehampton in February 1973 for hours id records offences by. drivers, and a .rther conviction in March 1973 for similar Tences and faulty tyres.
Mr Richard Benny, managing director of the company said in evidence that, following the convictions he had dismissed the two drivers involved and a letter had been given to all other drivers regarding the seriousness and importance of keeping strictly to the law in respect of these matters.
In giving his decision the deputy LA said that the company had a very poor record indeed. The company had had two vehicles curtailed from licence for three months in January of this year, and was getting very near to the stage of having its licence revoked in its entirety.
