BRS had its finalists dressed in smart new lightweight zipper jackets, bright red with black trimmings, and with the new threearrows symbol on the breast. I hear that the two drivers, Messrs. Henderson and Symonds, who won through to the championship list, have been given a fortnight's family holiday by BRS in appreciation of their achievement.
J. C. Kendrick of Paraffin Distributing Co. is a fine driver who seems destined always to be bridesmaid, never the blushing bride. He wins classes with clockwork regularity in the heats and this was the third year in which he had been a finalist, but at Bramcote he managed no better than second place in class C. In the words of the Chairman's Award of Merit, which he won, he is the "driver with the most consistent performance over the past three years, not having won a major award". I hope he has another go, and doesn't carry out his rumoured intention to drop out of the competition.
