Traffic Area that an additional transport manager was needed by Marley Building Supplies Ltd has been rejected by the Transport Tribunal. The company was not prepared to nominate more than one manager, and felt that a restricted licence was unacceptable despite the Deputy LA's view that its transport manager David Newby had"too much on his plate" (CM, July 18). The Tribunal said it sees no reason why the company's transport operations in the Metropolitan area should require the attention of more than one transport manager. In addition to the three depots irb the area, Mr Newby is also responsible for another 40 operating centres throughout the country.
