ZPECIAL list S2, published on Wednesday by the British Transport Commission, contains the biggest unit ever offered. It comprises le major part of the meat haulage section of British Road Services. )pots at Smithfield, Islington, Poplar, Southwark, West Ham, Bristol, iverpool, Manchester, Portsmouth, Southend, Avonmouth and )oncaster are offered, along with 497 vehicles and 273 trailers, and one pare vehicle and 121 spare trailers.
Most of the vehicles are on charter to United Carriers, Ltd., who, as eported in The Commercial Motor last week, are bidding for them.
'lye other meat-transport units are Ted. There is one at HanweIl with vehicles, one at Southwark with vehicles and three trailers, and three Stepney, containing 50, 10 and two ides, respectively. Altogether 574 icks and 276 trailers, plus one spare icle and 125 spare trailers are conled in meat units.
