THE TRANSPORT Division of the BFI Group has added 50 new Iveco 4x2 tractive units to its fleet.
The vehicle will primarily be used on container traffic duties working from the company's three depots at Castle Donnington (Derbyshire), Lydbrook (Gloucestershire) and London.
The order comprises 30 lveco 190.30 units powered by six-cylinder water-cooled diesel engines rated at 223kW (299bhp) at 2,000rpm and 1,324Nm (977 Ibft) torque at 1,200rpm. Only two will be operated at 38 tonnes.
The remaining 20 trucks are 165.24 units equipped with six cylinder water-cooled diesel engines which develop 179kW (240bhp) at 2,3 0Orpm and 1,205Nm (889 lbft) torque at 1,30Orpm.
All but nine of the 165.24 models have been specified with twin-bunk sleeper cabs.
