PAA NEW range of lightweight, electrically driven, portable conveyors has been designed by G. Hunter (London). Ltd., Gumley Road, Grays, Essex. Bitumen-impregnated cotton webbing belts with aluminium cleats are fitted as standard to give higher angles of inclination than with other types of belt, but any kind of belt required can be supplied.
The boom of the conveyor consists basically of rigid, rectangular, hollow sections which also house the selflubricating ball bearings for the belt spindles. The boom is supported by a tubular, adjustable undercarriage with rubber-covered wheels. A handle at the lower end enables the unit to be moved easily.
Three lengths are made-10 ft., 13 ft. and 16 ft.—and the belts can vary from 1 ft. to 2 ft. Maximum capacity is 200 lb. with 50-lb. unit loads. The standard speed of the belt is 80 ft. per minute, but this can be varied to suit particular requirements. Prices start at £165.
