• Oswestry-based haulier G&R Cadwallader, which shut down the bulk of its operations voluntarily (CM 6-12 June), could be revived in another form.
Russell Cadwallader, one of the brothers who ran the company for 42 years, says that after its vehicles are sold he might re-invest in a smaller, more specialist haulage business.
He adds: "I'll take a bit of time to see how things are, but I've no intention of retiring. A smaller, specialist haulage business might be the way to go."
Cadwallader says nearly half the firm's vehicles have already been sold. The remainder will be auctioned on 21 June in Oswestry.
He says many of the firm's 110 drivers have already found jobs elsewhere and that all creditors will be paid. He adds: "We look after our staff and we managed the closure honourably."
