LESS than a week after the Conservatives took control of the Greater London Council in a landslide victory they began' to put their election manifesto transport plans into operation. Meetings began this week between Tory leader Horace Cutler, and London Transport chief Sir Kenneth Robinson, on major plans for reorganising London's bus services.
After their meeting, Sir Kenneth and Mr Cutler met the Conservative chairman of the GLC's new London Transport committee, Haro14 Mote, to talk about plans sal to include a new ring of bus and tube interchange points.
Also on the agenda was th Conservative plan to cut down on cross-London bus routes that are caught up in commuter traffic jams.
