el The Scottish Executive hopes that tolls on Glasgow's Erskine Bridge will be re-imposed next week: they were suspended following its own administrative error two months ago.
This comes as bad news for the large number of Glasgowbased hauliers who have started using the bridge since its toil-free status was secured. The lifting of charges came about after the executive failed to extend the Tolling Order on the bridge which allows the tolls to be levied. The
charge for using the brid which is on the west side Glasgow, is 60p each way.
"Using the bridge saves 10-15 minutes on our ch trips," says Brian Cardiff hauliers Cardiff Bros.
