NEARLY 700 DAF trucks were registered in the UK last year, 602 of them in the 28ton-gvw category and above, giving the Dutch company a five per cent share of this market. Sales of heavy tractive units were 70 per cent higher than in 1973.
Managing director of DAF Trucks (GB) Ltd, Mr David Mansell, announcing the figures, said DAF was convinced that quality vehicles would remain in demand this year and that there would be growth in the rigid-truck market where DAF sees strong demand for the new eight-wheeler.
