BY CONCENTRATING its transport programme on single and drawbar demountable vehicles built by Abel Systems Ltd, a London carpet distributor Anthony Stuart Ltd, is hoping to reduce transport costs by up to 25 per cent over the next five years.
The bodies, which were constructed by Reeve (Coachbuilders) of Chesterfield, are made from Glasonit panels and are 6.1m x 2.4m x 2.4m (20ft x 8ft x 8ft) high. Ford 13/14 chassis with turbocharged engines are used, fitted with VBG drawbar coupling units.
