A COMPLETELY new range of portI-1 able electric arc welders is being marketed by Ardleigh Co. Ltd., Ardleign, Colchester, Essex.
The welders are additions to the Swift range and consist of a 120-A welder and two 200-A welders. The small unit will run from an ordinary 15-A single-phase supply. It has an infinitely variable current adjustment and runs rods up to 8 s.w.g. The welder is oil filled and continuously rated and costs £33 10s. Both the 200-A welders are infinitely variable, suitable for singleand three-phase supplies and able to run 'rods from 16 to 6 s.w.g. One is oil filled and mounted on four wheels and costs £69 10s. whilst the other is air cooled and costs £59 10s., being mounted on two wheels with steady leis at the opposite end. Accessories for all three welders cost £4 10s. extra.
In addition to the introduction of these new units Ardleigh has improved its Swift welding generators by boosting output to 300 A and they will now run up to 0.25in.-diameter rod. The petrol enginedriven model costs £275 including the engine whilst the tractor-mounted generator costs £148 plus £9 10s. for pulley belts and front mounting attachment. It is also available for rear mounting and for fitting to a Land-Rover.
