• Designed and built by Hampshire-based J&J Conversions, Concept 3000 is set to make roadside recoveries faster and safer. The 102hp , V. Volkswagen T4 chassis
crewcab incorporates a
1 GRP workshop unit with a • towing dolly stored underneath the rear of the chassis for moving stranded vehicles to a safer place. The self-steering trailer lowers back on to the road in less than a minute; it has a 1,000kg payload, disc brakes and aluminium load ramps. The AA has already taken delivery of 100 Concept 3000 vehicles.
• The Boniface Engineering stand featured a Mascott crewcab with a 130hp engine and a Jige International body. The fibreglass composite body cuts the kerbweight by about 600kg compared with a steel equivalent. It features a 12V jump socket, six load compartments and a two-tonne open-ended spectacle frame; it can lift vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. • Centrepiece of the Roger Dyson Group stand was a fiveaxle Scania Topline with a 530hp engine which was named Best Show Recovery Vehicle at AVROEX 2001. The 10x4 is fitted with a 16-tonne-capacity rear-steer/lift axle and an Industries NRC-built 9240SR sliding rotator system capable of lifting 40 tonnes. The two-boom crane can lift 26 tonnes from the side and 38 tonnes from the rear; stability is ensured by 2m stabilisers.
