A STUDY BY aftermarket exhaust company Eminox shows that 62% of transport operators have no plans in place for dealing with the upcoming London low-emission zone (LEZ).
The LEZ,which comes into force in 2008,means many operators will have to retrofit or renew their vehicles to meet the required Euro-3 emission levels.
Mike Galey, director of marketing at Eminox, says: "We conducted this survey to evaluate the level of demand and put plans in place to meet the needs of operators.
"We identified a clear need to provide operators with information and advice to help them with the LEZ."
The survey shows that 30% of respondents do not think they will be affected by the LEZ — though many arc unaware the zone extends almost all the way to the M25. It also shows that less than I % of operators have plans to retrofit their vehicles to meet the required standard.
