Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Principal Exhibits :—Vans ; Traveller's Car ; Rail Car ; 8-ion.p. Chassis.

The 2oh.p. delivery van is a new departure, and is now placed on the market for the first time. Other vehicles on exhibition include : a toh.p. commercial travellers' car, fitted with pneumatic tires ; a toh.p. chassis for loads of loewt.; a toh.p. van, complete, for light loads ; and a railwayinspection car made with flanged wheels to run upon rails.

The engine, fitted to the first-named vehicle, has four cylinders cast in pairs. each cylinder having a bore of 31 inches, and the piston-stroke is inches. Two camshafts are employed, and the cams are keyed in their respec tive positions. A Brown and Barlow carburetter is fitted to the vehicle on exhibition, and a separate exhaust pipe leads from each cylinder to an expansion box, to which the silencer is con 'meted. Ignition is by accumulators and a coil.

The cone clutch is large, and of substantial design, and its male portion drives the first shaft in the gear-box through a double universal joint. The gear-box has three speeds and a reverse : the wheels are of the sliding type, and are wide upon their faces. The change-speed lever works in a gate, and a through drive is obtained for the top ratio. The final transmission is by side chains.

Both the foot and hand-brakes are of the internal-expansion type. The first acts upon the first gear-shaft, behind the gear-box, whilst the hand-brake works against the inner side of the sprocket drums upon the back wheels. The frame is constructed of pressed steel, and a transverse spring is at the rear end of the chassis. The front axle is tubular, whilst the back axle is solid, and is extra strong. The vehicle has been made to the order of Price's Patent Candle Company, Limited.
