AN application by The Creams (Lancashire), Ltd., for permission to link excursions starting from Todmorden and Hebden Bridge was granted by theā¢ Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners on Monday. Six additional destinations were put on to each licence, including Whitley Bay and Cleethorpes.
Mr. Hubert Allen, general manager, said during 1957 operations were light,
because of the weather. An additional reason was that the company had had the same excursion schedule since the inception of the Road Traffic Act, and people wanted a change.
The new destinations had all been the subject of inquiries and care had been taken not to tread on the toes of other local operators. To achieve more economic operation they were also seeking to link destinations common to the licences by picking up in both areas when on the direct route. These linking vehicles would count off both licences.
There were no objections.
