Previously known as the Small Truck range, Thermo King has renamed this product line Direct Drive to more accurately reflect the scope of its Barcelonabuilt truck-powered products. These feature three separate power sources, ranging from lkW to 11kW of cooling power.
Completely new for Thermo King is the A-Series, starting with the A-1050 to suit truck bodies up to 9m. Powered by an alternator directly driven by the engine, it's claimed to improve on similar products on the market by its inverter technology which enables it to produce a constant output regardless of engine speed.
Its brushless motors and scroll-type compressor are designed for low maintenance.
The vehicle-engine-driven V-Series is soon to be topped by the V-700, offering the output of a medium-sized diesel unit, with a reciprocating compressor able to cool a 7m truck.
Lower down the scale the V200 and V-300 models offer multi-temperature capability and now, with the addition of a new controller module, can
air-condition the cab from the same source. The existing V-090 model is upgraded to the V-190 with improved features at the same cost, and the V-090 MAX 20 has been introduced for freezer applications up to 7m.
Running alongside the VSeries is the new CSeries: lower-cost basicspec units for chiller-only applications.
The smallest models in the Direct Drive line-up are the B-Series, driven directly from the vehicle battery.
