'TELEVISION entertainment had cut I travel on services partly Of wholly outside Halifax, said Mr. R. Mackenzie, general manager of Halifax Transport Department, before the Yorkshire Licensing Authority on Monday. The department sought to abolish workmen's fares and to revise other fares and stages in an effort to stave off a general increase in fares. A loss of £35,407 was expected this year and the proposed revisions would raise only an extra /21,000. Halifax Trades Council, Hebden Royd Urban District Council and Sowerby Bridge Urban District Council objected.
