• A haulage contractor who admitte stealing two lorries, valued at £400 and £8( and asked for a further offence c attempting to steal a lorry to be taken int consideration, was given a suspended priso sentence of six months in each case to ru consecutively, and ordered to pay £48 compensation to the original owners of th vehicles when he appeared before Leylan magistrates.
The court heard that the haulier, Mr C Wrennall of Martinfield Road, Penworthan had acquired one of the lorries b borrowing it for trial from a Wigan ma who was under the impression Mr Wrenna was a prospective' buyer. However, the mat Mr Alan Shorrock, did not see the vehicl again until two years later.
