THE WELSH TOWN of Usk in Monmouthshire is to install CCTV on the town's bridge to stop HGVs passing through. The town has weight restrictions on vehicles of more than 7.5 tonnes unless they are loading or unloading.
The CCTV, which was requested by Usk Town Council and approved by Monmouthshire County Council, comes after public concerns about the increasing number and size of trucks going through the town.
A meeting is planned between the council and Gwent police to discuss further measures, including revising existing road traffic orders.
