AS A SUGGESTION to ensure that Commercial Motor is as popular as ever, how about reprinting within the magazine, road tests from previous eras?
I'm thinking that along the lines of Leyland Marathons, Guy Big Js, Volvo F8fis etc. The Commercial Motor archives must be bursting with examples. I feel sure there are a large number of readers who would enjoy such articles, particularly those of us who remember such vehicles and have seen the way our industry has progressed over the years.

For the record, Commercial Motor was first published on Thursday 16 March 1905 and our first 'road test' (as it were) was the Humber Light Van (8hp-10hp and four cylinders) and the Argyll Light Van (12hp and two cylinders).
Apparently, it had many advantages over the horse-drawn vehicle — particularly as you could leave it standing without watching the horses...
