IRREGULARITIES IN MANCHESTER ALLEGED.
ALLEGATIONS concerning the nonobservance of licence conditions by Manchester operators were made at a sitting of the North-Western Traffic Commisioners, on Monday, when Mr. W. Chamberlain, chairman, said that the position was exceedingly serious and that the irregularities would have to be dealt with administratively. For the London, Midland and Scottish Railway Co., it was stated that some ,operators appeared to be sharing their passengers on a co-operative basis.
In many cases the Commissioners were asked to restore that condition of excursion and tours licences that authorized booking offices in a particular district could be used cooperatively.

GLASGOW Wages and Conditions of Service Committee has arranged for a conference to be held shortly between a. special, sub-committee and the Transport and General Workers Union to . consider new proposals regarding wages and conditions of service for bus
and tram 'employees. •
The proposals include a working day of seven hours for drivers and condnctors, without a reduction in wages, the working day to be completed within a maximum of 10 hours per day and the working week to be averaged over four weeks. It is proposed to increase the wages of bus conductors to the same level as those of tram conductors. The proposals will affect 7,00 employees.
