THE former. London Transport tram depot in Norwood Road, London, S.E.27, was opened on Monday as a distribution centre by Domestos, Ltd., Newcastle upon Tyne, manufacturers of industrial and household detergents. An office block and storage space of nearly 30,000 sq. ft., sufficient to accommodate 9m. bottles of the company's products; comprise the premises of the new branch.
The cartoned supplies are brought from manufacturing centres by eightwheelers each day, and distributed throughout south London and the Home Counties by a fleet of some 30 Thames 3-tonners, with bodies by Modern Coachcraft, Ltd., Newcastle.
